A bit of De-Tango'ing

I think it depends on the colour of the car sometimes.

Green with clears not as good as a black car with clears

End of the day though looks is always down to individual choice.

No matter what you do it will always be a fake Mini:(

Irrational MINI hating ahoy.

I suppose you'd love to see what Rover initially had planned for the mini, with their barrage of awful, awful concepts, including one which looks, and is designed suprisingly like a smart. Oh, and the AVC30! http://www.aronline.co.uk/index.htm?r50storyf.htm

I don't like the BMW Mini, but not because it's "not a mini", but because I really dislike the look of it!

yeah for it to be a real mini it would have to have been put together in a rather shonky way and fall apart and rot.

But the new mini is properly put together and exudes german quality.

So its blatently not a mini is it ?

The original mini was a cheap car for the masses, with a couple of neat ideas, and a couple of 1sts.

The BMW mini is an expensive car for middle class mums, with no merit for interesting design.

German quality, huh? Last one I drove was broken beyond belief* - play in the steering, creaking every time I went over a bump or turned a corner, heater didn't work, trim was rattling.....felt like a proper Mini. I was in heaven :)

By contrast, the last 'proper' Mini I drove had perfect steering, felt completely tight over bumps and through bends, the trim didn't rattle and the heater kept me nice and toasty. Felt weird :o

***edit***

* - it actually did expire a couple of months later. Maybe they aren't that far from their Austin/Morris/BMC/BL/Rover roots....

Whats fake about it? I mean ok it seems to be absolute poverty spec, probably to keep the monthly payments down, but it's hardly fake. It's a genuine Mini bought from a genuine Mini dealer.

It's hardly poverty spec.. it's got a pepper pack (So A/C, Lighting pack etc)

Sarcasm.

And yea, in all fairness - it does look very basic.

However, on the other hand - we all started somewhere. Enjoy the car :)

The Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2's will look rather fetching on your car. I implore you to buy them.

I've also just discovered that they're some of the best looking aftermarket wheels to fit to EP3 CTRs.

Got a photo?

Yup:

I'm also liking the look of 16" Rota GT3s, but I don't want the hassle of arsing around with ride height to make them look 'right'. The 1.2's just look spot on to me.

they definately suit the car really well.

Yeah, they look like the type of wheel that goes well on many cars. I think they're just about at the top of my list now, for when I eventually replace my knackered OEMs.

Cooper used to be an almost top spec model with the old minis...what's the structure now?

Mini One (1.6, 90Bhp)
Mini Cooper (1.6, 115Bhp)
Mini Cooper S (1.6 with a S/C, 170Bhp)
Mini D (1.4 Derv, 75/88Bhp)
Mini JCW (1.6, 210Bhp)

Then you have trim levels...

Salt
Pepper
Chilli

Chilli being top of the range i think.

Thats not for the R56 however.
