Hey guys, the girlfriend has decided that she wants to get a computer instead of an xbox because she wants to play the sims 3, so i've told her i'll build her a computer that will play it and a few other games.

Now shes got a budget of £250 max, i've already got an old case and PSU for her to use but i need a bit of help.

In her current computer she has an Intel E1200 (1.6GHZ 800MHz FSB 512KB L2) so i was wondering if i would be able to get a decent overclock with this with the low end stuff to go along with it? Or is it worth getting a new processor aswell?

Heres what i come up with to go along with it, if you think theres a better way to spend the money then please tell me! Thanks!

What brand is the psu that you currently have? Also there's no need for that cpu cooler on such a tight budget. If you are going to overclock go for the arctic cooling freezer 7 pro rev.2 it's only £20. And yeah, I probably would buy a new cpu. Just wondering if it's all worth it though, or if you're maybe just better off getting her an xbox.

She dosen't want an xbox because she still needs the computer for other things, the psu is a cooler master real power 450w, which will handle fine. So it is worth getting a new porcessor also?

cmndr_andi thanks, that looks much better value than what i come out with.

she will be playing at 1280x1024; so dosen't need anything great.
