Ok, so I need a graphics card and power supply for a friend that works with PCI 1.0 x16 for £100.
Thanks
Edit: I did mean PCI-e 1.0

The PCIe version shouldn't cause any issues as it's supposed to be fully forward and backward compatible.

What does this friend want to use the PC for?

Why graphics and psu? The level of graphic card you'll get for that sort of budget aren't going to need anything special to power them.

Erm what are people doing? He has asked for a PCI 1.0 Graphics card. PCIe is NOT backwards compatible with PCI. The notch is even at the other end of the slot.

OP: Do you want PCI or PCIe, the fact you mentioned x16 leads towards PCIe, but it needs to be clarified before you or your friend buy anything.

If the notch is closer to the back of the PC then Its PCIe, if its closer to the front its PCI.

It should be printed next to the slot if that helps :)

It's fairly safe to assume he ment PCI-e as the x16 indicates as such, which is why no one else had bothered to ask. :)

PCI 1.0 was superseded by PCI 2.0 one year after it's introduction in 1993.
If he did mean PCI 1.0 good luck in finding a card. :P

Guys, one questions: The guy is running a really old dual core pentium. Would upgrading just the graphics help, or does he really need a new cpu/mobo?
