A couple from today..

Hi,

A couple of shots from today, my first wildlife attempts. Any feedback would be appreciated..

Not So Sonic:

PP: colour temperature increase, highlight curve increase, sharpened, cropped, & increased levels on eye reflection.

Goosey:

PP: colour temperature increase, highlight curve increase, dark tones curves tweaked, sharpened, cropped, & increased levels on eye reflection.

Bit 'messy' this one I think..

Still, anything constructive is more than appreciated!

Thanks bakes, I was sitting here looking at it for ages. I couldn't figure it out but now you've mentioned it I can see what you mean, it really is a hedgehog!!!.

the first one is good, nice and sharp and good use of DOF
the second one im not sure on, did you just sharpen around the eye area?

The entire image is sharpened. In addition, I also increased the levels on the eye to emphasis the highlight more.

I like both the shots, nothing technically wrong with either. As photos they don't do a great deal for me, they're well shot but ultimately fairly bog standard photos.

Yeah, fair comment.. need to get some more dynamic shots.. so much to try! This photography lark is starting to take up a lot of time!
