Iv just bought a Vapor-x 5770 OC edition.
and obviously have to upgrade my PSU..
I have about £50 to spend on one.
i have a Phenom 9550 nt overclocked
4GBs DDR2 1066

Case is minimal and isnt overloaded.
To make to make ti clear what i have is.

I have a 430w psu running
Quad Phenom 9550(2.2)
4GB Geil running at 1066
9800GT
Gigabyte ga-ma78gm-s2h
1 SATA HDD 7200rpm
1 DVD-RW/CD-RW drive
Case LED lighting Not fans.
3 80mm LED Fans
2 120mm LED Fans
PSU is Antec's Basiq 430w.

So im swapping the graphics card to a ATI 5770
wondering what PSU wattage i should go for.
im guessing 600 or 650... even a 550 could do it. but id rather be sure with a 600w..

But where can i get a decent 600w PSU with sufficient amps on the rails etc.

Answers are very much appreciated. (pref with a reason as to why your answer is what it is)

Kind regards
SandyG

If its a quality 430W you got now it should be fine, if its generic brand then yes youll need to upgrade
If so Id recomend the BeQuiet PurePower L7 530W

"PSU is Antec's Basiq 430w."

Lol i already said it in my discription..

Antec is fkin decent i know that but wasnt sure..

Antec Basiq 430

Antec basiq should be good enough, always depends on what else you running in your rig, I always aim for a bit more headroom to be on the safe side. With anything regarding the psu and gfx you should check what it supplies on the 12v rail and the amps that it has available for the psu.

If you do want to upgrade the psu, then the Corsair series are always rock solid IMO, I use the 650 tx which is ok for me but if you cant stand the mass of cables then a modular psu might be the way to go, though expect to pay a bigger premium for one of those. ;)

EDIT: just checked corsair psu finder they recommend a psu from their range from 450w upto the 650w, so guess the sweetspot would be 550w
