Hi
I have installed an ssd drive this week and install windows 7 onto it , so now dual booting .
My vista hd is the main boot disc , well i have tried changing the boot disc to windows seven ....i have been into msconfig and removed the vista operating system so now boots straight into windows 7 (no boot option)
So now i have tried to move the bootmanager over to windows 7 drive ....tried what someone said by copying files over and running a file ( cannot remember what it was but something to do with boot file )then made the drive ACTIVE .
Well started up , changed bios to windows 7 drive ...but now comes up with " a disk read error occured -press ctrl , alt , del "
Tried running windows disk and doing a repair ...it repairs something then restarts ....still comes up with read error ....if i change the boot drive back to the old vista drive then boots . i know i can live with this but would be nice to make windows 7 hd the boot disk.
Anyone had this problem before ?
I have tried turning off the vista drive then doing repair but still comes up with read error .
Do i need to do a reinstall to sort this out ?
Any help most appreciated
P.S i have 5 other standard hard drives in the system besides the SSD
