A&E sucks

Ugh. Cut my hand to shreds arguing with my parents. Knuckle skin hanging off. At nealrly 24 it's pretty sad, first time i'll probably need stitches. Worst thing is i don't even live at home. Behave yourselves guys

Ceramic sugar container. Sounds stupid but there is 23 years or background to pick up. Waiting for a doctor now. Pretty civilised otherwise.

6 Stitches over 2 fingers. I was just rather dismayed at waiting from 2am till 6am when it only took 10 mins to sort and there was only 5 other people waiting. Hence why i posted from my phone whilst staring at the floor. Not a nice place to be overnight.

First time experience and yeah I deserve the pain. Wasting tax payers money? I've been paying tax for years and only been in Hospital once before to get checked over for a bike accident. Half my finger skin was flapping about and it wouldn't heal without some stitches in there.

Typing with one finger on an ergo keyboard is very difficult, but the service was pretty good despite the wait and nonchalant doctor who was too chilled for his own good.

If you can only imagine the cases they get in there then sorry fella, your poor hand is like a lunch break compared to what would bring him out of "chilled" mode.

You miss the context i suppose. He left me waiting for over an hour, taking up space, when i should have been told to leave. I've seen worse than my hand for sure and im not complaining in the slightest. The guy was a complete dude and he fixed me up good, but even the nurses said the same thing. I could been out of there in no time but i was left sat with my hand on a table waiting for nothing. There were other people with bones sticking out who could have been sat where i was. Either way it was sorted.

If you want the story i was stopping my parents from kicking the **** out of each other and ended up smashing my hand into a ceramic flip top sugar container. They've argued and fought all my life. I went over to enjoy a night out with them and it all went to ****. Not a nice place to be.

5 nurses sat talking and a doctor just stood looking and the floor for half an hour at a time. And it was a quiet night, they said and apologised. Don't get it misconstrued, im not complaining it must be a **** job with all the drunken lads given them **** and giving treatment to people like me who they probably consider a time waster. Until you're sat there waiting hours bleeding all over the place, you just don't realise how crap it is. No reflection on the establishment and staff, just isn't a nice experience.

If this is going to continue into some kind of holier than thou then bin this thread. I was just sharing my injuries thoughts and embarrassment, i aint proud that im sat here one handed typing wondering how im gonna get any work done this week.

I was in the minor injuries unit at Blackburn Royal, so not quite A&E but its to stop people crowding the ambulance bay and entrance. It was all pretty dead according to the nurse.

Sorry about the post above, I've come off a bit rude, but it really annoys me when people bring in the fact that they pay taxes.

No worries. The taxes quip was a reply to someone else in the thread. I went there expecting to get laughed at but the doctor was quite concerned about it. It was my mum and girlfriend who made me go, i was happy to stick a bit of tape over it.

I'm laid back, why get stressed man, you'll live longer if you just chill, no need to be some boring uptight idiot just because you're educated.

The human body is just another machine, all the stitches are is fixing a couple of leaks.

That's not the point. He was wondering around the corridor and left me then the nurse came in realising he'd forgotten about me and said my exact words herself. I quite enjoyed watching his handywork, i don't expect anyone to give a toss.
