put that cpu and a cheapo mobo together as a secondary system or better yet put it on members market advising only one memory channel works.

No I haven't because the manual says that if you have 1 piece you put it in A2, and if you have two pieces you use A2 and B2... If I get time today I'll try the other combos

Ignore the manual

A single stick *should* work in any slot. Optimum in A2, but it still should work elsewhere.

Mixing A2 and B1 again *should* only disable dual channel memory, but work.

defo try the b1 and b2 slots first before you do anything.
