A few external HDD questions.

I've decided to get an external HDD, mostly for backups, but there's just a couple of things I want to ask:

- I'm thinking of an Icy Box IB-351UE-B-BL + a Hitachi Deskstar T7K250. Any problems with this I'm not seeing? Anything better for around the same amount?

- Is there any point defragging external HDDs, and if so, do I just defrag as I would an internal?

No technical problems with the enclosure/drive combo, just make sure you order the IDE version of the drive.

I doubt you'll notice that an external drive is needing defragged, the interface is much slower than an internal IDE interface. You can defrag them but it'll be slower than defragging an internal drive.
