A few new Oblivion tidbits....

This is from one of the previews....

Graphics look like they're still being optimized. The rig they set me up on was a powerhouse--a Dell 3.4GHz packed with an ATI X1900 512MB card. The video settings were set at a modest 1280x768 and anti-aliasing was turned off. There were some occasional stutters, and I could (albeit on rare occasions) see some stitching lines between textures. Performance seemed pretty similar for this machine as it was for the Xbox 360s running Oblivion on the other side of the room.

Glad I preordered the 360 version impressive stuff for a console being compared to a X1900 system.

Oh yeah, she'll probably be happy to watch me play it, she enjoys watching me play a game with a good storyline (she loved watching me go through Kotor 1 + 2).

you should be going round her to see her, get your gaming out of the way before you go round :P

only joking mate, sounds like you have a mint lass there, my old lass liked PGR3 but thats it

360 for me. I love the thought of just sitting in a nice comfy chair or lying in bed while playing it. Plus it's portable that way, can take it to my gf's for the weekend and play it there.

Same reason. I have never been able to get away playing games of this type for large periods of time on my PC.

Looked at the demo today, I just know I'm asking for trouble, but...

...I'm not impressed!

I'm sure it's gonna be a wonderful game if you like that sort of thing, but, not for me.

The whole thing behind it is playing in a story how you want to. It's all about immersion, which Morrowind had in spades. I suggest you give it a go regardless J.

@ the end of the day m8t you ever like it or you dont, i jst like the ign review, 2 differnt reviews of the same 5 hr time to play = 2 differnt experiences, both awsome.

So it's not a linear type game then?

It has a plot, however it's totally none linear, you could go off and join a guild of robbers and steal stuff for profits, or go exploring through the woodlands etc..

There's so many different ways about going through the world.. thats all before you start manipulating your character. You can choose to be different 'personalities' etc.. so you could be a fighter, a magician or a criminal etc.. It's very engrossing.

O! O well it might be pretty nifty then.

Will see what you lot think when it comes out. If it allows me to go round robbing someone, then a few days later beat the carp outta them 'cos they couldn't afford the rent and are on the streets, then it sounds good.
