A few problems with my Vectra! Please help

Hi there guys,

I have a 52 Plate Vectra C and I have three problems with it.

1. Boot sensor says boot is open all the time, when it actually isn't.
2. Rear reg plate light is on constantly even when car is locked etc.
3. Should my milage on the dash be lit all the time?

If anyone could help I would much appreciate it.

Sounds like some electrical gremlins to me. I suggest you take it to your local garage.

The old man used to have problems with the boot on his omega. Everytime he locked the car it would open!

We think the wire to the boot might have snapped or something so we're going to take a look at it. I've removed the bulbs out the reg plate for now lol.

With regard to the dashboard, what do you guys think?

Can't you just trace the boot lid sensor and number plate wires back? Sounds like the 2 light faults may be related with something shorting.

Seek out an electrial specialist and try get a quote buddy, a lot of the time its not as bad as you think. It may be a very simple job to get these fixed as they could all be connected in some way!

Thanks for the replies. It's not a towbar no. We're going to track the wires back and check them out, as suggested think it might be shorting!
