A few questions about Saltburn

Right, I have a few questions I need answering. Im googling, but not getting very far. Are there any campsites in or in the very near vicinity of Saltburn of Marske? Ive found a few that claim they are, but seem to be miles out. Does anyone know if you are allowed to camp on the beach/sanddunes? Are you allowed to have fires on the beach? Thanks.
 
hardly a beach at all if the tides in iirc

dont have a clue about tides and stuff though so am probably wrong

i know theres a campsite/caravan park right next to redcar beach which is only a bitup the coast (walkable)

Im from the north east and its one of the places i used to go as a kid for weekends, a freind at work keeps going on about the amazing surfing up there and asking me about places to stay. As i told him i know there is some static caravan sites not far away but i cant really help with details. Ive been stuck down south for over 10 years now so details escape me, That said no-ones seen any sharks off saltburn...

Yeah, the tide does come quite far up. Was thinking about higher up amongst the dunes though maybe. Ive seen the one in Redcar, and ive walked that way before, but its a bit of a treck, especially at 4 in the morning which is when id need to be up.

Nope.. Photographer. Im planning on getting shots of Saltburn Pier at Sunset and Sunrise. A few of my mates at uni used to surf there, but it all sounds far too cold to me.

Thanks for those :) It seems Street House Farm is miles away unfortunately. (I wish they wouldn't say Saltburn when they are blatently not in Saltburn) The Milton Street one seems spot on in terms of location though. Looking on google maps, I can't see any tents or much else tbh. Where you find that one?

Edit; Actually, it looks like a caravan park.
 
Went to school there and live near by and can't think of any to be honest.

There's no real dunes at Saltburn either to camp in.

You'd be better off staying in the Spa hotel on the bank about 25 metres from the pier probably (or one of the numerous B & B's).
 
I have just asked a friend who lives in Saltburn and he said:

though, you can camp in the valley down in the bottom of the woods, which isnt far at all to the pier

I lived in Saltburn up until January :).

I've seen people have fires on the beach, whether it's illegal or not I don't know, they won't do anything though, they are good like that.
As for Campsites, there is a Caravan site, but there isn't any (to my knowledge) in either Saltburn or Marske, but then again, I've known people who have gone camping down the woods several times.

Saltburn's address is an odd one for sure, as both Brotton and Skelton also fall under the 'Saltburn' address code. However, anything in Saltburn is walkable as it's short.

Saltburn Pier is definitely a good photographic source, that whole area is if I'm being honest, it's where I went when I was studying photography at College. If you want a little tour guide I'll pop by and help you, I have nothing better to do these days, sure we can pop out for a pint or 2 (if you're up for it :p)
 
Thanks for the comments and suggestions. :) Unfortunately ive not got hotel money, and id rather avoid B&Bs as i'll be getting up and coming in at silly hours of the night. I might consider camping in the woods though. Tbh, I might actually just sleep on the beach or stay up. Get a fire going and i'll be fine (As long as the tide doesn't wash me away.)
