A few SSD Q's

Am looking at mainly an OS drive, but would like a bit of space for extra applications (no games).
Looking in the 30-100gb section, I've found a couple that catch my eye:
Crucial RealSSD M4 64GB - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-008-CR&groupid=701&catid=14&subcat=910
This has a blisteringly fast read time, but a pretty poor write time. Tbh, I'm not sure what to make of this... I've heard that Crucial are about the best SSD's around atm, but that seems heavily inbalanced?

OCZ Vertex 2E 60GB - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-047-OC&groupid=701&catid=14&subcat=910
A very balanced R/W of 280mb/s... this seems perfectly balanced and still incredibly quick, and I think that OCZ SSD's are close to Crucial quality?

OCZ Vertex 2E BigFoot 90GB 3.5" - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-059-OC&groupid=701&catid=14&subcat=910
Any explanation as to what the advantage/disadvantage to having the larger disk is? It has the same R/W speeds so I'm missing something I think and the same goes with the "25nm edition" SSD's.

Look forward to hearing your replies. :)

It's the read speeds that give the performance boost to a PC. I've bought a M4 256GB which hopefully will arrive tomorrow. The M4 is also SATA III so it's a fast drive if you have a SATA III motherboard.

OCZ make good SSD's a lot of people on here have them. The 2e is the previous generation drive, the Vertex 3 is the latest which out performs the M4 but at a higher cost.

The big foot makes it easier to install an SSD into desktops and according to the text in the link "lower cost per gigabyte form factor to easily integrate into desktop applications without the need to install additional hardware." So it should be cheaper than the 2.5" equivalent!

Hope that helps.

Many Crucial M4 reviews have suggested it is not a great leap forward over the previous C300 model and so I would not be too put off when looking at drives such as the Vertex 2E

I've just ordered the M4 this morning. Gave in eventually having wanted an SSD for sol long. Shame OcUK don't price match as I actually would have preferred to get it from them along with a few other things. :(
