Anyone else get out fishing today? Weather was good, not ideal conditions due to the sunlight but it was better than wind and rain!
We went here, nice place which is a 5 min drive away: http://www.harlesthorpedam.co.uk/

Looks a bit different in February:

Anyway, I ended up with a skimmer (bottom left) and a few roach, weighing in at 4lb 4oz:

Here's my bro's catch, 6lb 10oz, consisting of a 10oz perch and a nice mixture of roach and skimmers:

Hope the weather's fine tomorrow!

Nice catch! I fished for the first time ever last September and have to say I really enjoyed it. Looking forward to doing it again in June.

You going to eat all that fish?

Thanks!:) No the fish were all put back, i'm pretty certain roach wouldn't taste nice:p

JUNE?! Pffttt, fairweather fisherman eh?;)

Heheheh - as long as there's beer I'll fish (or do anything else) any time of year :p

What do you do with those fish you caught, do you get to keep and eat them or do you have to put them back?

You don't eat coarse fish, they were returned to the water just after those photos were took.

nice one, cant wait to get out fishing myself when the weather gets a bit warmer ...but yes today was a good one for fishing. Well done.

I love fishing, carp mainly, but i'll not complain whatever jumps on my hook. I'm just about to join Crawley angling society... there's some absolutely cracking waters near me, including one called Wyrwood reservoir which is literally 2 minutes away and has some monster 30lb+ carp, 10lb+ Bream and 30lb+ Pike. Not to mention big perch, roach and a few tench so I hear. :)

We spent most of last summer carp fishing, it's fantastic - but I enjoy fishing for "bits" in the winter just as much, aslong as you have a flask of coffee you're sorted:D You still have a chance of getting a carp anyway, or a decent sized roach or bream.

I'll update this thread tomorrow as i'm 90% certain i'll have a nice pic of a golden tench if all goes well:D
