A good FPS for my Dad

Hey guys

My dad is desperate to get into playing FPS games, whenever I'm playing one he always sits behind watching, and always says how he would love to play

I've lent him some of mine in the past but he just cant get the hand eye coordination, like he cant aim and move at the same time as he can never remember the buttons or find his way on the keyboard. (We've all been there when we started playing WASD and mouse games)

So what is a really slow paced FPS that would allow him to walk round and learn the controls without getting killed every two seconds, also, that is pretty damn easy so he can actually get used to it slowly, so not too many puzzles

If it looks graphically very good then thats a bonus as hes a graphics over gameplay man really (I know, I know, he'll learn when he actually plays them lol)

So help an old man out, what would you recommend?

PS. He's tried FarCry before, failed miserably with it, just gifted him HL2 and Ep:1 but got a feeling he might struggle with those

Things like unreal tournament allow you to adjust the game speed, it also makes for a great LAN game for you both to play.

Any of the call of duty, or world war type games I should Imagine would be great for him

Don't get him a slow one, buy him cs:s and just let him play it, may take him a few moths but you learn quick an are forced to learn well. also gives you the chance to watch other people for clues and tips

What about far cry? thats easy going, still looks decent too

The original Call of Duty, CoD2 and possibly CoD4. Medal of honor series are also pretty good .

Mindless destruction with a little puzzle element thrown in, I think that'd go down a treat.

+1, start him off with something that'll get him engrossed in the story as much as the genre.

simple enough for him to get the hang of just about and after a bit of time.

Appreciate the answers guys, will recommend he starts off on HL2 then as he's just getting that now from Steam, if he likes that I'll get him to buy the Orange box

i got my dad the orange box and he loves it think he is almost finished hl2 but he has been playing a lot of TF2 is abit more friendly for multi player then other games as he doesnt have the best eye sight so he can go a support class (engineer mostly)

mhh well i know 1 slow fps but it needs bit of thinking to deus ex , and deus ex invisible wars its slow good story line im not sure if he will like it but you can show him. and if that will not work get him counterstrike source set bots on easy they usually look at you for 3 seconds before shooting you

Mohaa is quite fun, and u can snipe so less moving and shooting at the same time, would he find 3rd person any easier or does he only like the first person?
