has a 500watt antec true power supply, connected to a phenom II 955 and one ATI4890 - hes thinking of upgrading and buying another 4890 to use in cross fire at PCI-E 8x8 config. Will the PSU handle it? I said it probably wouldnt and recommended he buy a minimum of 650Watt psu from a reputable brand.

The antec true used to be a great PSU back in the day! i'd say it is borderline but i think the 4890s were a bit power hungry so maybe not. Wait for one of the more knowledgeable people to give you a definitive answer :D

Well it will work fine but if you have the money i would suggest getting a bigger one for any future upgrades
Off Topic:Any chance of pics of your pc mate :P

Yes mate, I'll snap it with the others when they are built :D I'd give you a quick snap now but my canon 5D is at Canon getting repaired after an accident I had involving a bowl of Punch over christmas! Don't ask. Lol!

it would push a cheap powersupply probley to the limit a 600watt should do it, hell might be able to get away with a corsiar 550watt
