A History Of Mastertronic - For those of us who bought games from the petrol station

I have personally never heard of them, mainly because I was born in 82 so its not before my time as such, we just could afford a spectrum or any type of computer for that matter.

The best I got was an atari from 1978, cartridge system, wooden sides... ooooooo. :D

then my absentee father turned up and gave me one of the only four gifts he ever gave me in my life, a Nintendo in 1991 (they were fairly cheap by then, had been around for three years).

in any case, as much as I didnt know of these people, I honestly did enjoy reading the article, :) Thanks for posting it.

*edit* i have just had a strange flashback to being 7 years old and playing Mr Egg on a spectrum... not sure where though... :/ !

The Curse of Sherwood is one game I never completed until 3 months ago. It was hard as nails even with cheats. The swamp was a nightmare to navigate.

After going back to it time and time again I finally managed to get past the swamp with some luck and then finish it - the ending sequence left a lot to be desired.

As, a BBC owner, I had to wait until I travelled down the valleys once a month to visit Menzies newsagents in Swansea. There, they had a few decent BBC games such as Combat Lynx. A few years later, I bought my first Amiga 600 and classic games such as Sensible Soccer, Dune, Zool & Wing Commander.
