Just wondering what ocuk think of the alevels which im doin which is maths, chemistry, biology and geograpgy.
Are these gonna be hard and what advice would you give?

my advice is put a lot of work into chemistry. I did maths, physics and ict at as level did no work what so ever and got 3b's then a d in chemistry so in my opinion it is a hard subject

I don't think GCSE results correlate with A levels, I was predicted 3 Bs at best from 5As and 5 Bs at GCSE and walked out with three As at A level with full marks in about 3 papers. Just do the work as you go along and you should be good to go :)

Maths and chemistry are the hardest of the ones you have picked. Pay attention and do what your teachers tell you too and you will have no problems.

I'm doing Maths, Geography, Computing A2 and Govt and Politics... Sort of feel i should have done a science, but Maths is my thing really..and they only offer Further Maths in the second year :/

Well obviously, but it can be a reasonable indicator...

Yup I know what your getting at and accept it, but in my limited experience of school those who didn't do very well at GCSE were pushing hard at A level and those who did well tried to coast through A2s and were very surprised with their results, but this was at a Grammar school. I was just saying it to stop OP thinking he was consigned to poor results if he had a bad showing at GCSE. :)

Those were exactly what I took. My advice would be to start working as soon as the term starts and not be a slob until the last minute.

Good luck, you're going to need it.
If he takes my advice, he wont :)

And how is your post count close to mine? :o

Out of those I'm currently only doing Maths (& Further Maths). It does require concentration and when it comes to near the exams, do as many practise papers as you possibly can.

They're the best way to revise and really do pay off. Best of luck to you!

If his spelling is an indication of his intelligence, he will.

Bcuz me big willy.

can I add you on msn Nite? I have a few Brisl related Qs if that's okay

Maths, Physics and Chemistry here, dropped Geog after about a lesson and never went back.

Ended up with A in Maths, B in Physics (4marks off and A) and C in Chem (15marks off a B)

All in all not too bad.

I'm not sure if I'm going to enjoy govt and politics yet... kind of think I should do something a bit more academic or something... a science perhaps... not sure :/

Going to do chemistry, biology and gov & politics.

Bit of a strange 3rd choice but I wanted something a bit different, didn't fancy physics or maths.

Looks like I'm going to have to put the most effort into chemistry.

That's kinda why I chose it, wanted something a bit different.... got my first lesson tommorrow so I'll see how it stacks up. Got 2 weeks limit of changing time still, so yanno, if it really sucks, I'll do something else.
