A-Level Results.

Good luck to all concerned today. I'm pleased these days are over for me.

For those going to University, finals results day is possibly the most nervous I have ever felt - have fun!

Before it showed that, didn't it say "Congratulations! Your offer has been confirmed"

?

Definately means you're in though. Unconditional = accepted & firm = first choice.

Well done :D

Won't speak too soon (till I get results anyway) but provisionally I'll say cheers! :D

From the UCAS site:

"If you already have your examination results, you may receive an unconditional offer. Once you accept an unconditional offer you have that place."

;)

Will there be any more changes apart from conditional to unconditional?

At the moment I'm sitting here refreshing every 10 seconds.

I have no idea why I'm so excited. It took me 3 years to do 2 as levels because of ill health but I suppose the fact I managed to do 2 a levels in 3 months is an achievement in itself!

Someone said our school won't open till 10:00 though :(

I don't think it's updated for me...all it says is "You have accepted an offer" same as it always has. Does that mean...? :(

K mine says unconditional.... but I also have had my results e-mailed to me. I was under by 2 grades, the wanted A i got C. But it still says unconditional.

Should I ring anyway?

Or am I definately in?

I got unconditional showing on mine and I was under by two grades, needed A got C and I still got in.

Just ring up to be sure.

Just checked and got into Queens to do Computer Science starting in Sept 2007. Now I have to go into school and get my results. :D

Hope all goes well with everyone else's AS and A2 results.

Good luck to you all!

Can't believe it's 9 years since I got my A-Levels. Didn't quite get enough for my first choice uni, but on reflection, I loved Bristol which was my second choice and think I would have been happier there than my first choice - Of course A-levels are easier now than they used to b :p ;)

I've signed up for an AS photography in the evenings though, so I'll probably be joining in the thread again next year

Good luck with your A-Level results everyone. If any one doesnt reach the required standard or fails- DONT PANIC, its not you its the media putting pressure on you..... Lets face it they are easy anyway

I screwed my A-levels up 10 years ago ( I still passed them) but it didnt affect where I am now. I never went to Uni either....1) I'd had enough of school, 2) My then g/f now ex-wife was pregnant so I had to work, 3) The thought of £thousands of £ of student debt didnt strike me as a great move.

The competition for jobs that require Degrees is ridiculous, and to a certain extent (in some industries), you might be better of starting from A-level and learning the ropes - as it were.

As a rough guide an A-level school leaver can command £16-18k in a training role in an accountancy firm and they will pay for training etc. After 3-4 years of doing a degree, that A-Level worker will have earned approx. £80k. The degree student -£10k debt and will enter a similar role on only a few K more than the A-level student.

Either UCAS haven't updated or we didn't meet our firm requirements. :( Considering everyone else seems to have received theirs, it doesn't look too good.

I've havent met the requirements for my course I chose but on the Ucas letter is stated I would be accepted on a lower course if I pnly got PPP (which I know i've got) so was jsut wondering if it would say something about that.

My firm says unconditional now, but my insurance is still the same as earlier.
Might be that they haven't updated so don't lose hope :)
