So ill start by saying basically, the PS4 event yesterday scared me, i just want to make sure my rig is going to be able to play games of that quality at a smooth 30-60fps

I just ran the latest 3D mark and i seemed to get 30-60fps and more on each test apart from the physics tests which ran at an awful 10-15fps

Here are my Specs:
MB: MSI-7599
CPU: Phenom II X4 955
RAM: 8 Gb corsair vengeance 1600+
GPU: Nvidia GTX 570

Im not a hardware nut just an enthusiastic PC gamer and digital artist, i just want to know my rig is up to par with next gen consoles and will be capable of running everything smoothly, I would like to know if anyone could help me determine what i would need to upgrade or if im running anything incorrectly to get such awful physics test performance.

Thank you for any help that may be given.
Kyle.

I wouldn't worry too much about it to be honest as it looks like the PS4 will still be using an intergrated graphics chip?

That PS4 'unveiling' was quite impressive.

Your Rig is a little out-of-date but still pretty decent.

To Raise it to Higher levels tyou'll need a Motherboard, CPU, RAM And GPU upgrade..

I'd wait til July for Haswell if i were you. Grab the K version of the i5 and a ~£100 Motherboard.

How much VRAM has your 570 got?

Depedning on budget the GPU's you should look at are: 7950/7970, 7850, GTX 660ti, GTX 670.

If you are looking to upgrade to something more competitive, start saving for Haswell's release in July. Give it to September/October and you may find OcUK with Christmas deals & other bargins.

Doom do you know what the graphics they are using in the PS4 is? I cant find a reference to anything specific other than "Radeons latest R10..."

In the CPU section there a thread that mentions it'll be simular to the 7970M..

Though the specification tables show it's a bit of a toned down version, a step between the 7950M and the 7970M..

Appearently..

Thanks

thanks for all the replies, so i guess it just all needs to be upgraded, there isnt one component i could upgrade to get better fps from physics tests?
