Before I go out and buy what I think is needed can i run it past you first please

cpu block
gpu block
hose
hose clamps
pump/rez
long balancer type of rez
coolent
rad
fans


what I'm not sure of

what size hose and clamps

do I need a balancer if I have a pump rez compo I think I do due to the combos not looking large enough to hold sufficient coolent

will 1 pump be ok or do I need a rez combo that holds 2 pumps?.... I'll be cooling cpu 2 gpu when I get another

is it advantages to let's say have 2 large balancers in 1 loop. I was thinking for the simple fact that more coolent = a more stable system temp wise

Having more res volume will mean it takes longer to reach equilibrium during sustained periods of load, but for the kind of volume you're speaking about in a typical watercooling rig it's not going to give you a real benefit.

The downside? Bleeding your loop with multiple res' can be an absolute pain as air always seems to go to the wrong res.

Personally I wouldn't bother.

A decent pump like a D5 will do your loop and give you expansion potential for the future.
 
Use compression fittings matched to the size of the tubing you want. If you really want to use barbs, maybe go with 7/16 (16/11mm) tubing and 1/2" barbs.

A pump/res combo is fine by itself. You don't need a huge reservoir and one decent pump is fine for your planned setup :)

I ask as I see the £8000 dream pc's in custom PC running 2 of the long balancer type.

but yes what you say makes perfect sense. and true my PC ain't £8000 hehe

is the normal tube size half inch?
 
1/2" is a bit out of fashion these days, people tend to go with 1/2" barbs and slightly smaller tube so they can get away withou unsightly tube clamps.

Personally I use 11/8mm tube + compression fittings these days.
 
16/11 tubing and compressions are exactly what you want. The same applies to other sizes.

I may have confused you by saying 16/11 tubing and 1/2" barbs. This is because a 1/2" barb is wider than 11mm and the tubing is stretched over it.

If you use compressions, the tubing and fitting size must match each other.
