Morning!
So I have a reply from EVGA but as far as I can tell its total nonsense
How can it possibly be a driver issue when it happened before Windows was even installed, and the machine isn't POSTing with the cards installed? I can't install nvidia experience because I can only get into Windows with either the cards disconnected or disabled at which point the Nvidia software just tells me "no compatible hardware installed".
Have I lost the plot or is this response completely wide of the mark?

For the problem you described, first ensure that you have uninstalled the previous drivers using a software tool (like CCleaner or DDU) before installing the latest drivers. This is strongly recommended as sometimes old entries in the Windows Registry can leave it unstable for use afterwards.
If you are running Windows 10, the problem might be caused by the Automatic Updates removing the Nvidia drivers (many customers have reported this lately.) Included below are steps to correct this:
To disable the Windows driver updates, go to Control Panel > System and Security > System > go under “Computer name, domain, and workgroup settings” you'll find "Change settings" to the right, go to hardware and choose Device Installation Settings, mark the option: "No, let me choose what to do" and then press Never install driver software from Windows Update.
This should allow either updating the Nvidia driver manually or through the GeForce Experience. Once the latest Windows 10 Nvidia drivers are installed, they should be good to go.
If the problem still remains after correcting these issues, please let us know so we can assist further.
