So one of my clients came up with the idea for a series of 10 unique shots of Liverpool for their gallery. I must admit that it was quite hard to do. I had to go out and photograph iconic areas of Liverpool and make them better than anything I've ever done. Easy eh. Well not quite as they wanted shots from the football grounds, and I've never been to a game let alone photographed one. That was the scariest part. Standing around football fans taking pictures. Oddly it wasn't bad and no-one stood in front of the camera waving their wenus at me. These are the results...

#5 - I realise the top of the cathedral is a touch dark, the final print isn't though. Can't find that copy on my site annoyingly.

You really like that 10-20 don't you? :)

Oh yeah :D I like that it allows me to get everything in. Like at the football grounds I got the people and the grounds.

I think this will be like me when I get a full frame camera to go with the 17-40.

Thats what stopped me going for the 5D over the 30D. I'd have to get the 17-40L too. Nothing wrong with it apart from extra money. When the time is right I will :D

Just superb, all of them...and I've eaten a portion of chips from the Blue Dragon too. They weren't so good.

I was there before the game and the street was dead. It was interesting to see it come to life in the way. I figured the chippy was a key part of the day for some people. In 20 years if someone saw this shot hopefully it would bring back all kinds of memories, just like yours... bad chips aside ;)

Seen some of these when you have posted them before, but when you see them like that all together they blow you away.

Yeah I had a feeling I'd posted a few before, probably in my Pro Photographer thread. I just felt, as you said, one concise thread would be worth doing. Haven't posted much recently.

Excellent work Cykey, I will be getting my new lense next week and will probably spend a day out and about in town, if I can get a couple of shots that are half as good as that then Ill be very pleased :D

I've seen them before but 1 and 3 are outstanding!

Ta. Enjoy your new LENS! :p

#1 - I like, did you clone the building works out next to the Liver building?.

#2 - Looks great but a bit too symmetrical for me.

#3 - Great shot, makes me realize just how crap I am. I have exactly the same shot from a few weeks ago, and in comparison it looks like something taken by a 5 year old with a PAS (the post production is great imo).

#4 - Another great shot, rich colors, the water looks a bit odd bit I recon it prolly looks way better at a decent size.

#5 - Great shot. Moody and got a kind of Gothic feeling, which I get from the church (and the graveyard at the back!). 'Transformers, churches in disguise!', as a friend once said when driving past it.

#6 - Lucky with the old sun there, and it looks good, only thing I don't like is it seems a little flat.

#7 - B+W insta-win.

#8 -
I have to go buy food so I can't type any more right now, but they really are good photos (8-15 too). Really inspires me to get my arse in gear and go out and practice, which is never a bad thing. Good work sah.

I'm not sure :D It was taken around October/Nov last year, can't remember what was there then.

#2 - Looks great but a bit too symmetrical for me.

It was basically that scene when I took the photo. I wanted it to be symmetrical but there was a building on the left that ruined the shot completely. The Cathedral, as I'm sure you know, is just like that. I just hated that one tiny building in the background so I mirrored the good side.

Ta. Its my fave from last year. Hope no-one asks me to do it again, doubt I could.

#4 - Another great shot, rich colors, the water looks a bit odd bit I recon it prolly looks way better at a decent size.

Odd? How so? I've printed it to 20x30 and it looks great.

#5 - Great shot. Moody and got a kind of Gothic feeling, which I get from the church (and the graveyard at the back!). 'Transformers, churches in disguise!', as a friend once said when driving past it.

Yeah I really wanted to do something like that with this Cathedral. Its got so much presence when you're there and I wanted to capture that.

#6 - Lucky with the old sun there, and it looks good, only thing I don't like is it seems a little flat.

I was lucky with most of these. I went out around sunset each night for 2 weeks and everything just worked. Do you mean the colours are flat or the image feels 2D?

#7 - B+W insta-win.

Aye I love this too. Need more cathedrals.

Cheers dude :)
