I don't think there has been a thread for this and considering I have made one for the past 2 I thought I would keep up this nearly 3 year trend.

So as above, the final Wheel of Time book comes out today, I will be picking it up as soon as the Waterstones in Crawley opens and reading it through a soon as I get home, managed the last 2 in ~9 hours so will probably be done and commenting by around 7pm.

Now I and many other WoT fans have been reading this series for a long time, for me it's near on 12 years, I'm nearly 23 and started reading the first when I was 11. As such I am rather...invested, in the story and characters. This is compounded somewhat by the length of the series and the fact that the original author, Robert Jordan (R.I.P), died in 2007, the last 3 books being written by Brandon Sanderson.

So yes, I expect to have a fairly emotional day tomorrow and am not entirely sure what to expect.

So, is anyone else doing the same?

I'm off to Waterstones on my lunch break, looking forward to getting it but won't be able to read until tonight.

Hasn't really sunk in that the series is ending :( over 10 years I've been reading it, both looking forward too, and dreading, the end.

Got my copy, damn pricey from Waterstone (£20), but I'd pay anything at this point.

I got my copy from Amazon in the post today, I didn't pay for delivery and just opted for the free one, but had a dispatch email last night, and this morning it was on my desk at work. Well played Amazon, genuinely impressed!

That's annoying. I did the same and they dispatched it today, expected delivery date is Saturday

Pre-ordered it months ago as well.

I ordered mine on amazon and it is coming today. However, I ordered it using amazon prime.

I am tempted to take the day off tomorrow to finish it.

I want the ebook, ridiculous we have to wait so long.

Yep, sucky four month wait :(

I did order the hardback however as I've all the others and it'd look odd if it wasn't there. Doubt I'll actually read the hard back though as my hands have grown accustomed to not holding massive tomes anymore.

I remember reading these and really enjoyed it up till about book 7-ish (Crown of Daggers I think) then it just started becoming a chore. I believe things picked up again after about book 9.
