Ive been having this really irritating problem for about 3 days now, my internet keeps disconnecting and it keeps saying 'A network cable is unplugged' then it reconnects after about 50 seconds or i normally have to repair and renew the ip address, it also keeps changing to 192.xx.xx and 162.xx.xx as part of this disconnecting issue.

It happens like every 10 mins

What modem/router/switch is it? (Make/Model) Someone might be able to better advice you with this information.

Its a Motorola SURF BOARD Cable Modem (Telewest Broadband)

LAN SiS 900 PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter

Ive tried to disconnet , reconnect everything, that doesnt work,
how do i lower the speed

I have telewest and use a surboard modem such as yours.

The way I think it works is this. The surfboard acts a a dhcp server to your pc, assuming you are directly connected to it. The Telewest servers configure you surfboard automatically.

You might like to look at the possibility that Telewest have changed their config either temporarily or permanently for some reason and your modem is merely doing what it is told - but you keep undoing it!

Its also undoing it self if thats the case! wahhh, when it disconnects if i dont change the IP address it eventually change itself back to normal

Ive tried the unplugging stuff, that didnt work.
