I've never really liked the E60. I really hated the pre LCI version - just felt it was a step-down from the previous model in every possible way bar 'looking more modern' and 'having more tech'. The LCI improved things on the interior which was previously just purely wacky - and I tried very hard again to like them but just couldn't.
The F10 is a different story - I love it. Feels like a true successor to the E39.
Fox - did you like power delivery on the E60 M5? I found Pete's E39->E60 step quite interesting, a similar idea (really, who'd have thought) but so very different in its power delivery. I don't dislike either, just felt very different to me. I guess its hard to tell if the V10 is 'slow' low down due the fact it just keeps on going all the way up the revs.
In my eyes the M5 should be the ultimate comfort cruiser, effortless performance. I still think the V10 does this, but its just... different.

Lovely car, though not overly keen on the F10 styling to TBH, the 5 series has lost it's understated class IMO. Tone down the wheels, make calipers black/grey and loose the side vents and I would be much happier even if it would make it look more like every other F10 on the road.

I did not realise how big the centre console screen is - huge
- and also how big the seats are! They look enormous! Must be hugely comfortable.
