My current PC seems to be struggling with most of the games coming out these days so I think it's time for a new one. I'm looking for a new PC mainly for gaming, something that will be fast and run current games on full with no problem. I need everything except a monitor, mouse/keyboard and speakers.

I tried to put one together myself but I'm not sure which is better at the moment between AMD and Intel. This is what I came up with but it has no processor since I wasn't sure what to get. I'm not even sure if it would work! This is what what I came up with.

I want to spend around £1000 and I won't be overclocking since I don't know how to. :)

Thanks in advance

Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.40GHz (1066FSB)

Noctua NH-U12F (Socket LGA775/754/939/940/AM2) Heatsink

Asus P5N-E SLi nForce 650 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard

Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 PC2-5300C3 667MHz Dual Channel Kit

Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320GB ST3320620AS SATA-II 16MB Cache X2

BFG GeForce 8800 GTX OC 768MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express)

NEC AD7170S Serial ATA 18x18 DVD±RW Dual Layer ReWriter

Corsair HX 520W ATX2.2 Modular SLI Compliant PSU

Lian-Li PC-7 PLUS Aluminium Midi-Tower Case

Total : £988.00

I would highly suggest overclocking, its pretty straight forward.

Have a look at this to get you started:

Okay, thanks for the link. And I just realised the case already comes with fans.. oops :p

I've never actually put a PC together myself, but I noticed some topics on how to do it so I will probably take my current one appart and try that if I can

Thanks for the spec though, it looks amazing o_o
