That's what I would use with a schedule. Why the use of 3rd party apps when built in apps will do. Unless you got extra commands in them.
 
poweroff is good yea yes it has loads of extra stuff like force applications to close or after specific apps etc
 
why type when you can click though not as though it actually installs anything it's just an exe still prefer poweroff to typing in things

You don't have to type, you either schedule it for your desired power off time or if you're so lazy you can't click twice, make a shortcut to said batch file. Then you'll still have to click twice :p
This magical app is only performing command line stuff...
 
completely with JayMax on this one, the only other alternative i'd consider is psshutdown, that's also freeware commandline based
 
Ummm the "at" and the "shutdown" commands on the command line normally do it for me :)

H:\>at /?
The AT command schedules commands and programs to run on a computer at
a specified time and date. The Schedule service must be running to use
the AT command.

AT [\\computername] [ [id] [/DELETE] | /DELETE [/YES]]
AT [\\computername] time [/INTERACTIVE]
[ /EVERY:date[,...] | /NEXT:date[,...]] "command"

\\computername Specifies a remote computer. Commands are scheduled on the
