i havent had a chip whose multiplier can be changed for a long time now and im wondering if im missing something ???

first i had a 2800XP that i couldnt alter the multiplier on,
then i got an Asrock 939 and an A3000+ Venice core which i couldnt alter the mutiplier on,
now i have an opty 146 but still i cant change the multiplier ??? should i be able to ? is it hit and miss ? or are they normally just locked these days...

300ishx10 should be possible on a 146. Mine hits a wall but is perfectly stable at 295x10 at 1.475v.

The A64, X2s, optys and C2D all have locked multis.
No they dont, my 3700SD has an 11 multi but i run it at 10 so i can push up the speed of my memory even when using a 333 divider.
260 x 10 = Cpu speed of 2.6 gig on a 333 divider giving mem speed of 217mhz at 2.5/3/3/7.
That is faster than having 236 x 11 on a 333 divider cos the mem would run slower although the Cpu speed is the same.
