A question about filters.......

In January I'm buying a S9600 which has a 58mm lens thread so I can use filters on my lens. I plan to buy a UV filter to give the lens as bit of extra protection and I was thinking of getting a polorizer filter. The thing I was wondering is it worth getting any other types of filter? With PS being such an amazing tool is there a benifit of getting a colour filter? Also whats the sort of price range I should be looking at for a semi-decent filter? You see them as low as £3.50 on some sites but I guess they aint worth it.

Yea thats what I was thinking. There is no need to spend stupid money on filters that will just give the same effect that a few mins photoshop work can do.

I've had a quick look and a lot of people seem to think that hoya make good fliters for the money, but they seem a little too cheap at about £12 for a UV(n) filter..... so has anyone bought one?
