Just had a thought. Would a firewall, either software or hardware based, prevent the odd message getting through?

I think we've established that the mess.be patch contains spyware and so the A-patch is a better bet.

Mines fine. I have offline messages enabled too so i get to see most missed messages.

There is a post in the thread I linked to where someone says he thinks in the past at least the mess.be patch had spyware. No idea about now though. Just be careful dude.

It does have spyware.

But you are given a great big ruddy great warning during the installer allowing you to chose to install it or not. Everyone with common sense choses not too, but you get those who just click "next" on everything, and end up infested with the stuff.

agreed.. ^^ i've used mess patch since it first came out and it has always been fine for me! as stated before, just be sure to always download from reliable sources.
