A Question for Arsenal fans

O'Leary is a chequebook manager in my eyes. Does OK when he can spend millions every year, but always moans about lack of funds and quality in the squad when times are hard.

As for who should replace Wenger, I wouldn't mind Capello. Depending on how he gets on at Rangers, it's possible Paul Le Guen might have a chance as he has been strongly linked with Arsenal in the past.

We already have Jens 'Howlin' Mad' Lehmann :D

Well to be fair I wouldn't get in a plane with that crazy foo' either ;)

And you can't replace your existing manager Hannibal "I love it when a plan comes together" Wenger which only leaves one A team member to make the team who I am struggling with, I can only think of Freddie "the Face" Ljungberg to fill the gap here unless anyone can come up with better? :D

HangTime that is part of my problem with O'Leary, he can't stop whinging about his squad or therein lack of it, he couldn't stop making noise at Leeds about how young his team was even when he had an open chequebook so I don't think he would do much better at Arsenal unfortunately.

Capello would do well but I'm not altogether sure that Arsenal would be able to attract him especially not at probably 60+ as he will be when Arsene Wenger might finally retire, Paul Le Guen I would say is slightly more likely almost regardless of how he does at Rangers(and rather sadly from my pont of view I think he will do well :(). Paul Le Guen is definitely a good manager but that is no guarantee of doing well in the UK which is the only bright point I can cling to. :o

A lot of people think that, and also think Leeds tried to buy success, however our most successful seasons when we first got to the CL where actually accomplished on a relative shoestring, with a huge amount of home grown talent. It was after that initial success, which O'leary was a huge part of, that Risdale started to get starry eyed and bought ferdinand, fowler, seth Johnson etc etc on ridiculous salaries.

I'm still undecided on O'Leary to be honest. No manager seems to be able to do anything with Villa, but at the same time they have had a very poor season for the quality of their squad.

I thought Le Guen was going to join Arsenal working with Wenger...

The thought of Bergkamp joining Wenger's coaching team and developing his managerial abilities from there is an exciting thought though.

I'd be VERY suprised if O'Leary took over though. Did well at Leeds but he's not done brilliantly at Villa now that he doesn't have the money...
