I just got mine today. This is the first wheel i have ever owned... i was just wondering, when u turn the wheel just on windows desktop and not in a game (although its exactly the same in gtr2 for me), is it normal that the wheel feels as though its attached to a cog and that you can feel the teeth interlocking as you turn the wheel?

i was expecting the wheel to be a lot quieter and a lot more smooth/fluid in motion.

oh well... back to gtr2 :P

thanks deffinately will do... i just had a go on f1 challenge '99-'02... my arms ache :(

lol

damn i wish they would release a new f1 game... hamilton bandwagon is rolling and im on it :p

I was after a decent-up-to-date F1 game/mod for ages (I'm sure there is a fairly recent one for rFactor?) but once I discovered the joys of rFactor online I guess I didn't need much else. You've got a variety of cars in the game with some powerul formula karts in there. Makes for some very good fun.

i get a 'geary' noise when i turn the wheel fast, but other wise not much noise.

yeh i get that too... does that equate into a kind of subtle clicky sensation as it turns too? its not fluid like a proper car wheel is it?

also another thing... gtr2, if i bought a ferrari and it was that prone to skidding, i would take it back :P

It's got a dual motor, double belt system inside it. I've got the same noises on my wheel which I think is just the belts and FF motors doing their thing. Nothing to worry about.

Simply a car setup problem and the inability to drive a GT car the way the game wants you to.

thats the problem... isnt it meant to be a simulator.

You never hear of someone having a go on microsoft flight simulator only to find that the wings arent bolted on properly and every time u take off a few minutes into the flight you crash.
