I have a 120cm desk * for my monitors, keyboard mouse and speakers , its an office type desk , i also have my lovely 120cm OcUK gaming pad laid on the desk too...now when i lift the pad from the desk there is load of static under the pad....the desk itsself is covered with vinyl / plastic coating....is there anything i can do to stop the static build-up ?...apart from trying to remove the vinyl covering itself altogether and replacing it with a thin sheet of plywood ? thanx :)

lol tbh this sounds awesome, can think of so many ways to ***** the missus with this :p.

It could be the plastic that is stopping the static from being earthed, although plastic is not conductive like copper, it can still store small amounts of static electricity.

Try removing it or using some sort of cable or conductive material to transfer it from the plastic to the ground?
