I've got an old cheap Zorro case that I'm using for my first build. It isn't really ideal but it will do. I've bought 3 Akasa Amber series 80mm fans. Two go in the front of my case brining air in and another is on the back of the case taking air out. I've got an old rubbish fan in the middle of the side casing.

The Amber series 80mm fans are rated at about 25.4 CFM. I've been thinking about putting a more powerful 80mm fan on the back of the case and putting the Amber 80mm on the side panel. I've seen one rated at 32 CFM. Would this aid better air flow in the case if a more powerful fan was sucking air out than the Ambers?

Also I've seen a cheap 4" case lighting kit for £2 that includes two tubes. How much heat to these kick out as one reviewer said that they get quite hot?

In a word: Yes. You want more going out that it. Usually air flow is front to back but if you have 2 fans front & 1 back I'd be tempted to reverse the flow & see what happens or make the side fan exhaust as well.

Yes the side fan, which will be a Akasa, will be sucking air out. So that would be two Akasa's sucking air into the case and one fan on the back rated 32 CFM and an Akasa on the side case both sucking air out of the case. I'm hoping there won't be any build up of heat with this configuration.

Do you know of the best rated 80mm fan in term of air movement and noise level. The 32CFM rated fan that I've seen is a Startech (never heard of them personally). Oh wait I've just seen the delta (She) on OCUK with a massive 68.51 CFM, but the noise would be too much I think.

Also, the Akasa Amber 80mm fans I got I read they don't come pre-threaded. I just screwed them straight into my case, which was quite an effort. The plastic didn't crack or anything. Have I ruined them? How do you thread them?
