Ok, im a bit miffed on one small detail, im currently nudging my e6300 up and up on my ds3 motherboard, testing as I go, so far all good..

Now I am doing this on stock Vcore settings of 1.25v as I found pushing it up to 1.45 sent my temps up too much..

what I want to know is, will my computer become unstable when the voltage of 1.25 is not enough for the ever increasing clock, or will it just fail to boot?

reason I ask is because I dont have a jumper wire to bridge the connecting pins on the DS3 motherboard, so id rather avoid boot failure!! I think thats how u do it right?

It's very rare to have to reset the CMOS on the DS3. The board is very good at automatically recovering from bad overclocks.

But, as said above, you can just pop the battery if the worst happens.

You're worried you won't be able to reset the CMOS?

You can do that by removing the battery for a few minutes too, you know.

ideal, wasnt sure if that would work on the ds3, thankyou, I take it then the bios reverts back to defaults and you can restore it then back to the last know safest setting..

sorry im very new to this, and I dont wanna have to panick when the system doesnt start..

:D

Yeah if you remove the battery it will boot with the default factory settings.
