A proper resolution with a decent yet responsive IPS panel. :)

Nice Monitor.

I find it hard to choose a monitor, whats better for gaming over lets say this or a 120hz monitor?

I play;

WoW
BF3/BF4 when it's out

I have lots of other games fps/strategy but i'll never get round to actually playing them :)

120hz Is the best gaming monitors you can buy for FPS and quick Response games with 1-2ms.

In some games you see less stuff on the screen at 1920x1200 than you would at 1920x1080. E.g. Stacraft II, Diablo 3 ... I'd imagine there are more. It stretches the height and crops the width.

1080p is the standard format now, 120 px higher gain doesnt make any different too me. I rarely want to put windows above/below each other. Side by side is the future.

I love the ultra wide screen 2560 x 1080p now thats the future.

Very nicely priced. 1920x1200 res screens used to command a very hefty price tag a few years ago. Still running the benq fp241w. Id personally find it strange moving to 1920x1080. Next step will probably be 2560x1440 27".

Nice to see more in this aspect ratio, but still happy with my U2412M and hope it lasts quite a while yet. 16:10 FTW!

The 2560x1080 panels in the Dells and any other using the same panel type will do 75Hz - but its no 120Hz and tbh you get more tearing/rippling in the image with vsync off than 60Hz :( and still too much input lag to have vsync on (unless you don't mind it).

Those panels are pretty good for gaming if you don't mind vsync though - not far behind a 120Hz TN for image clarity when tracking a moving object and as good as or better than most for stabalising on fast 180 degree view changes (actually impressively so) just have a bit more input latency and not quite as responsive/smooth as 120Hz but heaps better than almost any other 60Hz.

Good to know. Think I'll be going for a BenQ 2420T rev.2 next (especially with the zero flicker backlight), but I fear the image quality is going to be a downgrade from my current Dell IPS.

(goes off to have a nosy at the 2560x1080 dell just out of curiousity...)

Height still has it uses :)
