** A RARITY: NEW ASUS 24.1" MONITOR WITH FULL 1920x1200 RESOLUTION!! **

Is this a fact? I can't find any info on it and I would be surprised to learn it's true.

I was surprised to read that opinion too.

According to WidescreenGamingForum, Diablo 3 and StarCraft 2 scale perfectly with screen aspect ratio:

You will see more "width" on a 16:9 display than a 16:10, but equally you'll see more "height" on the 16:10, so it's a bit of a moot point. Personally, I had a 1920x1200 screen, but went for 1920x1080 screens for triple screen simply because they're cheaper. If 1920x1200 had been the same price I would've gone for them every time - took me longer to adjust to the 10% vertical loss than I was expecting to.

Yeah, just checked on my own monitor and it does seem as though most games 'pan and scan'.

Still, it's not a massive issue because most 1200p monitors (incl. this one I think) have 1:1 pixel mapping so you can effectively turn your monitor into a 1080p one if you want without any ugly scaling going on. I personally like 1200p for most desktop applications. 1080p feels to squashed.

Hi ,
I am thinking of ordering a new monitor to replace my ancient dell 22"
I use it for gaming, fps, flight sims etc.
My budged is around £200-250 and Im thinking 24-27"
IO have seen a few tempting ones on Ocuk but not sure which to go for, would really appreciate some advice.

I was looking at these as possible options, im probably more leaning towards a 27" as you can see from below

Going to be updating my i5/asusp87-m system to an i7 as well soon, plus a decent sized case that can take upgrades later on.

any help would be appreciated

Post in the monitors section in the forum, you will get more help.

FYI, 1080p good at 24" but not so much at 27". You'd probably want 1440p at that point, but thats another whole ball game.
