A strange journey

Today will be my first time back in the office for 2 weeks over a year. I'm only going in for a couple of hours to see everyone and say hi. And there will be cake!

I'm feeling a tad nervous about it but I expect it will be OK.

I have been working full time hours now from home and managing OK. Not had any issues since this time last year. I'm actually looking forward to going back to work even being as lazy as I am.

I think I am recovered now but still taking a lot of meds to make sure. No longer needing sleeping tablets at night but still on Steroids and anti-epilepsy meds.

I hope today goes OK and I don't have a funny turn! I will see I guess.
 
It's two years today since I had collapsed at work. I've been having small seizures over the last 12 months and have been given a new dose of medication. It is a strange feeling when they happen. Like I hear people talking to me and I hear the words but can't make sense of what they are saying. They only last a few minutes maybe less, then I get a strange effect on my taste of food etc. This can last a couple of days and it's hard to eat. I had a mini one last week, but they usually happen every 2-3 months. I did not realise they were seizures at first and only sought medical help fairly recently.

I still feel very lucky to have survived but I do feel worried about my work. I'm not in danger but when they happen, I cant work or understand people and I feel exhausted afterwards for a day or so.
 
Sorry to hear you what you are going through. My son's seizures are relatively well controlled but illness, tiredness and some sensory overstimulating can still trigger absence seizures for him. He is always a bit out of and tired after they happen.

The doctors always talk about having a threshold level where they can occur and certain things lower the threshold. It is worth trying to find common factors around episodes. Could be the office lighting or temperature amongst other things.

Glad you have sought medical help and hope they can help you get things under control.
