Thank you.

I have a landscape orientation shot of #2 but noticed some strange artifacts that I missed after editing so I'll get round to re-editing that tomorrow.

Thank you.

The soft look is simply a case of using a neutral density filter. I have a 3, 6 and 10 stop of which the 6 and 10 I use most for landscape stuff.

No No.

1 stop is either doubling the amount of light or reducing the amount of light by half. For example if you had a shutter speed of 1/100 and changed it to 1/50 you have made an exposure of 1 stop higher (more light is entering, therefore you get a brighter image).

An ND filter is just dark glass that reduces the light entering the lens. So for example a 3 stop ND has the effect of darkening the image so much that you either have to set a wider aperture or increase the amount of time the shutter is open(or any combination of the two) by 3 stops. For example if you had 1/400 of a sec shutter before attaching a 3 stop ND you would need to 'stop down' to 1/50 of a sec to achieve the same exposure.

To get really smooth, dreamy water you need exposure times in the seconds or longer.

Been a long time since adding anything to this thread so I thought I'd provide it with a bumper update. Still loving the X-Pro 1, even with it's quirks.

Had a spare hour yesterday so I popped down to the seafront to take a few snaps. The sky was lovely all day with some nice cloud formations. However, 30 minutes before sunset the stormy weather started to roll in and so I only managed to get a couple of shots off before it started raining.

Thanks, mate. Much appreciated!

Here is a shot I took several months back of my friends wife shortly before their baby was born. We arrived at the location a bit too late in the day and I only had 10 minutes or so of sunlight before it receded behind the cliffs.

Some really great stuff in here. Interested to here what your flash set up is for the xpro 1? Especially off camera stuff.

Thanks. I used a Yongnuo YN560 iii flash along with some Yongnuo RF603 transmitters for the images in this thread. As for flash modifiers, I have a Westcott Apollo softbox and a Westcott 2 in 1 umbrella.

I recently bought another identical flash along with a Yongnuo 560TX to control the flash from the camera rather than having to adjust it directly at the flash.
