Hi again, here's what I shot today in Warwick, nothing that amazing really, but I'm interested to see what you guys think.
The fisheye shots are from a cheapo lens which attaches on the filter threads, hence the poor quality, although it's not too obvious at these sizes.

Nice shots. The first one looks lovely, I really like the composition of looking down the 'rows' of where the field has been cut (I'm guessing it's a field lol). I don't really get what is going on in the second one, just looks like an out of focus picture  The third one looks good, I think the vignetting is really effective.

My place of work is a stones throw from that park in Warwick. You can just about see the peak of Warwick Castle in the last photo.

Is that down by the castle where there is the park?

I work just outside of Warwick but bike/drive through it most days. As Im going to get a new camera soon I am just making mental notes of where to go when I get it.

Why didnt you go and take pics of the castle or walk round the town? There are some nice buildings in the town I have my eye on.

You should take the ubiquitous shot of the castle from the bridge :)

1 is my favourite too, it was just a recreation ground, I didn't even notice the rows when I took that shot. So it was a nice surprise when I got home.
2 is for the abstract really, I like it, just curious to see if I'm the only one who does...
3, the vignetting is from the cheapo fisheye, sometimes good, sometimes bad!
Thanks for the feedback!

Oh trust me I did take the castle from the bridge! Wasn't a massive fan of my shot though...as the sun was pretty much just to the side of the castle only the sky got exposed properly. I tried a HDR but it looked a bit crap, and had no tripod.

I did have a quick walk around the town, or some of it. I didn't really know where I was going so I headed for the castle. Maybe I'll go again, with a map!
I actually got a 'Parks and Gardens' map from tourist information in Warwick, so I'll use that next time. The park I went to was 'Myton Fields'.

Thats the one, Myton Fields, couldn't remember the name of it, its one of the places I had in mind to go to.

Do you know any other areas around here that are worth going to? Apparently up past Whitnash there is an old windmill, but I have only my friends word on that :D

Another idea would be Stratford-upon-Avon, but thats a bit of a drive away, but would probably be worth the effort.

I think for the castle you need to get a morning shot of it as the sun rises against it from the bridge, I was planning a sunrise shot of it at some point, probably in a few months.

To be honest, I've only just started venturing, despite living here since Sep 05! I'm at Warwick Uni see. If you check my DA there are a few shots from around Leamington Spa.

My choices of destination are kind of dictated by bus routes! So I plan to check out Stratford, Rugby and Draycote Water (a reservoir halfway between Leamington Spa and Rugby). Stratford isn't far at all you know, 15 mins by train, 35/40 by bus I think.

Good idea for a castle shot, you're right the sun will be straight on it. My problem was zoom, at 55mm you get a lot of the trees and stuff to the sides of the river, and the castle is small. Maybe getting a boat/canoe and rowing it would work...

Ah, thought you were a local you see :)

Draycote water seems a good idea, you could also try Kenilworth, there is a big park at the top of the town that has a small lake and some ruins, as well as the Kenilworth castle which is about a 5-10 minute walk from the top of the town. Its on the number 12 bus route, although I think there are other buses to get there, its on a warwick uni bus route anyway.

Think I looked through your DA before, some nice shots in there.

Theres usually something going on at Stoneleigh Abbey during the year, went to the kit car show a year or 2 ago, which can have some nice cars there. Its a bit of a trek though, not sure of buses that go that way.

As a Kenilworth inhabitant I figured I'd say hello :)

Kenilworth Castle is alright for photographs, but not all that exciting really. Abbey fields (the park at the top of the town) is literally 2 hills and a swimming pool, nothing to take photos of there.

Hop on the X16 from Leamington and you're through to Warwick, then on to Stratford - trip only takes about 30 mins. If you take the train you've got a bit of a walk down to the Canals which is pretty much the best place to be for photos.

An ahhh, Myton fields.
I've spent many an hour handbrake turning round the grass carpark up there in my friends knackered cars (My car is too nice to be silly in ;)). It's pretty boring for photography though to be honest. You'd have been better to go up to the castle and the town and take photos there.

Nice to see a few locals on here though :)
