Somehow, as stated, I'd put my money on the better driver.. who ever he/she is..
As for equal drivers, I'd not like to put much money on it..
For the slating the VXR handling seems to come under, it sure whips the Golf/Focus ST around all the test tracks.. (The Megane Trophy was even quicker again)
I know I keep saying it, but since it only has 13BHP more then the ST, and yet seems to pan it around a track suggests that the chassis is more then capable..
My opinion is all these cars, RS included with relatively normal road-racers, there is bugger all in it, straight line, I'd probably favour the Astra, with twisties thrown in, well it'd have to slightly favour the RS..

(Focus ST 134.9) as a reference...
in a straight line, Power to Weight favours the Ashtray 172 to 169 BHP/TON..
