A year later..

I do wonder if I should sign on just for the hell of it at the minute...May as well sorta thing =/ Paid enough to them so may as well get some back.

I say always sign on even if just for the statistics, I don't think you even have to take the money but you should definately be registered. Personally when I signed on I looked at the money as being a quick tax rebate it's the only benefit I've ever claimed and I've paid far more in as have my folks and partner who've never been unemployed.

Congrats, I've just started a new job too (and I was signing on, if anyone wants to have a moan... thanks for the cash!).

Congrats on the job, however when unemployed always always sign on even if you don't want or need the money otherwise your just slewing the statistics in the governents favour and you've paid your taxes so it's time to get some pay back.

Plus signing on will ensure that your national insurance is paid for your unemployment period.

nice one mate. I'm currently on job seekers (not yet had a payment though, im new) and as much as doing nothing easy, I'm have been bored out of my skull for the past month and my over draft is gonna run out soon :D

and i finally have a job yay, i have been out of work for just over a year now and have been dying to get back to work, and now i start work for Parcel Force on monday in there sales team!!

Just wanted to share my excitement!!

Congrats dude, and much kudos for not becoming dole scum :D

Well done... horrible to be unemployed. I found it very hard to swallow my pride and go claim the dole for a few weeks once upon a time. I'd dislike to have to do it again. Pitiful it was.

Again thanks to all

I did not have it easy while i was not working cos i was looking after my 1 year old son and thats hard work lol
