A1 from doncaster to edinburgh

Actually - a very good point.

At this time of year, the A1 south of Geordieville is CRAWLING with the filth.

Take the A19 to Sunderland then the A1231 west back to the A1 at Gateshead. Then it's straight north through northumberland, around berwick and up to Edina.

Was it Coldstream where those your ladies were caught on CCTV...er...'taking out their frustrations' using some railings...?

This would have been circa 1996...?

Probably just one of those rumours that went around... ;)

Haha, only moved here in 1997 so fortunately (?) I missed that incident :p

Drive this route at 2am this morning, from Lincoln to Berwick and back down again...

From Doncaster there is nothing all the way upto Berwick...apart from the one that I saw in Berwick before I turned off...Which is in the middle of the road next to a petrol station. Start slowing down when you see some services on your right hand side and the next petrol station is the one with the camera.

The only think Id say is about 30 miles out of Newcastle on the single carrageway the fog is out of this world...Literally had 2 metres of vision.

All in all....Drive safe :)

Co. Durham = No fixed speed cameras. Only ever seen one scamera van between Darlington and Washington services (just after Chester Le Street before Gateshead).

There are no fixed speed camera's but i go up and down the A1 quite often between Darlington and Gateshead and see quite a few police cars, especially on bridges. Just a warning though police cars in co. durham are white with a yellow stripe down the side, which always seems strange to me.
