Hello.
Need to replace the 747 sounding Retail CPU Fan. Main requirement is it needs to be silent (or near enough). I had a Zalman flower on my old P4 which was great but this retail one is doing my head in  .

Any suggestions?.

Thanks in advance

Steve

I'm using the Zalman CNPS9500 on mine.
Nice low temps, quiet.

Not sure which others will fit, but the Scythe Ninja is reputed to be a great heatsink, and with the correct positoning of case fans - Practically fan-less.

don't put the ninja on the SLi32x as the ninja itself seems to block the airflow to the heatpipes and the chipset will just keep overheating with you. Thats what happened with my mate when he put his Rev2 Ninja on, so he's back to his arctic freezer 64.

Never been a problem for me. I just made a little duct from the heatsink to the rear fan.
As long as you can find a way to get some airflow over the chipset/vreg heatsink it will be fine.

And its not just the ninja, every tower heatsink will give no airflow over the chipset/vreg heatsink.
