right, dunno if anyone remembers but a coupla weeks back i was building a system for a friend and it diddnt work, it was eventually decided that the motherboard wa at fault, so it was sent back, it was then returned "Fault not found", so... im confused, the GFX card works in my PC, ive tried all memory sticks in all sockets, etc.

the problem is that the monitor will simply not display anything and the motherboard will not bleep at me (either at post or with no processor to tell me it doesnt)

so if its not the mobo what is it?? please help!!!!!

Is there a speaker plugged into the header on the mobo?
Have you checked the CPU?

where is the header on one of these? i just presumed it would...
no way to check the cpu..... my machines c2d

EDIT: only empty spaces i see are SATA_E12 TPM RST_SW and FLOPPY

I know nothing about the motherboard, normally the header for the speaker is next to the power/led pins.
edit:
Just downloaded the manual, its on page 2-34
Its the top right hand side of the system connector. The speaker should be plugged into there. Thats the only way you will hear your beep codes.

RESAULT!!! i have it booting, the GPU is in the 3rd PCI slot.... why it diddnt work in the other 2 i dont know but it cant be good,,,, isnt the third one slower??

and it now works in the other two aswell..... wierd but it works so i cant complain

further fiddleing reveals the memory doesnt work in the first set of slots, the black ones,
