AAAGGGHHH - Why oh Why...

Hmm, well China seems to be on the back-foot in my plans at the moment as a couple of friends decided to go and get married next year, so I need to stick around. However, volunteering for something like that fits the bill nicely!

How much are we looking at in terms of expenses (generally speaking)? How long did you stay for? Looks like a great experience.

I spent a month there and in all it cost me just over £1k but £600 of that was air ticket and insurance and most of the rest for the few days I spent in Boston doing the sight seeing. Not sure if it's the same with all the clubs but the one I did it with provided food and shelter at the basecamp as part of the working deal. I know a couple of people who spent 6 weeks there and an english girl who spent 3 weeks there and is now doing some sightseeing and wwoofing. When I actually got to the place I didn't spend much at all, probably around £100 over the month, most of that on fun things we decided to do on days off (paintball, rafting etc).

I'd suggest you go for more than 2-3 weeks though so you can get into the swing of things nicely before you have to leave again. I posted a few photos of my time there over in the photo forum if you're interested in what the area looked like.

Well to add to the 3 desktops and one phone I have broken in the last month (two of the desktops still aren't working...) it seems my laptop has decided to stop charging now... So that's another thing to have to sort out/buy...

Anyone else sometimes just feel like walking out on the modern world and giving up on it all?... :(
