I have a prob with a Geforce card I bought from ocuk I'm concidering taking it back and also seeing if I can change it for a 850XT card as I've seen the mobo Abit AT8 ATI RD480 which is a crossfire board and it says in its info it supports 2x64 so dualcore ready and its less than £90.

I was wondering will this mobo let me clock a opty 165 much?

I've been reading up on this Mobo and it looks great value for money. I may buy it tommow if they still have that offer on the 850XT card do I can swap the XFX 6800GS XXX for it. Then in a few weeks I'll buy an Opty 165 and I'll be on to a winner. :D

Havent seen too much problems with the Abit AT8 ATI RD480, but theyre not the best boards for overclocking.

Also you may want to get the Opteron 165 first (or ASAP) as the current ones seem to be overclocking very well.

BTW the X850XT is definitely the better graphics card.

I got mine yesterday with a dual core :) It seems like a nice stable board so far but I haven't tried clocking it yet. The on board sound is doing my head in though, I cant get 5.1 to work proper, is it possible to get 5.1 with this, or just Dolby 7.1? The audio drivers are a nightmare to configure, I want my soundstorm back :(

Also does anyone know if its possible to get 3 sticks of memory (2x256 & 1x512) to work in 128bit? I could with my NF7S but I cant seem to get it to work on the AT8.

Nope

For dual channel to work you need pairs of DIMMs
