Abit AV8 Processor upgrades?

I've got an Abit AV8 mobo with an AMD Athlon 64 3000+

I've seen the special offers on the site for an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4600+ for an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4600+

Does anyone know if this would work with my mobo?

If not, what is the fastest processor I can insert without having to upgrade the mobo?

I was also thinking of purchasing this graphics card to replace my aging Radeon 9800 pro.

I'm hoping a few hundred quid will keep it going for another year or two and then i'll finally upgrade the whole lot.
 
That mobo will support that proc, but you may need to upgrade your bios version to do so. Check what revision you're using and look it up via the abit site to see what it supports (if in doubt just flash to the latest available version).

I wouldn't plan on any spectacular overclocks with that mobo or proc, but you should have some headroom.
