Abit aw9d-max question

I can't seem to find out if this board would take a quad core cpu like the 9550 iirc it has a core 2 duo in atm and it has never had a bios update and it is 2 years old approx, would a bios update allow it to take the quad core cpu's any help appreciated, thank you.

Had a Q6600 in a non max verison, no idea on anything newer since i no longer use the board.

well it says it supports q6600 , q6700 and e8200 and e8400. but nothing about the newer ones.

i checked the bios updates and there is no update for q9*** series just for q6*** and e8***

so i guess it does not support q9550
